"Five innings. If a guy can make it out there for five innings without hurting his confidence or embarrassing himself or the team, I think it's a plus."
(Manny Acta, via Washington Post, 9/5/2008)
Braves 2, Nationals 0: New battery. Martis didn't embarrass himself in debut (although someone should probably draw him a picture of the strike zone: 92 pitches-42 strikes), so that's good.
Even in their 21st shut-out loss of the season, Nationals offense still looks better than the Redskins offense.
Meanwhile...
- Prong 2 nearly complete: Dmitri Young set to return from rehab Tuesday.
- Damn. Ronnie Belliard, strained groin. Manny Acta "suspects" Belliard is done for the year. Which probably means he's just day-to-day?
- Surprise: Hill to have surgery. Wonder where John Patterson is these days?

You got me, I chuckled at the title, that was good.
Belliard out for the rest of the year, which I guess is good in that it forces Manny to use more young guys (no more Boone, it's pointless to use him).
