(Photo by Getty Images. Paul LoDuca set the bar pretty low a few years back for washed up backup catchers. Pudge Rodriguez can do no worse, right?)
"We want a catcher that could fill in as an everyday guy on the short term, but could morph into a mentor/teacher for Flores. We have been consistent with that all the time. We are still looking for that guy. We are not sure if he is out there, but we are really checking into it."

Who? Pudge Rodriguez!
But why 2 years?
Nationals sign Ivan Rodriguez to serve as backup, mentor, for Jesus Flores. Here's hoping Jesus' shoulder will be 100% by Spring.
Most of all, we'll miss those Wil Nieves Defining Moments spots on MASN. Nieves to be released to make room on the 40-man for Pudge's carcass, according to Nationals.com.
