Over and Dunn with?
ESPN's Buster Olney uncorked a series of seven Tweets on Monday night about Adam Dunn and the Nationals. Or, maybe Adam Dunn hacked Buster's Twitter account. Either way, when you piece each 140 character burst together, it goes like this:
Heard this: Would-be free agent Adam Dunn has just about lost interest in working out a long-term deal with the Nationals because of what he perceives to be a lack of urgency from the team in working out a new deal. He does not feel there seems to be the same amount of interest as he has in working out contract. The Nationals are fast approaching fish-or-cut bait time with the slugger, who is fast approaching his seventh consecutive with 38 or more homers. At a time when power is becoming more scarce in the game, his value would appear to be high in the forthcoming free agent market -- if the Nationals don't move fast. The Nationals have had conversations with other teams about possible deals involving Dunn, and it figures they will trade him if they don't work out a contract extension in the days ahead. The White Sox are among the interested teams.

A simple case of Adam Dunn (or his agent) picking up the phone and feeding this info to Buster Olney 140 characters at a time in an attempt to put some heat on the Nats and negotiate through the (new) media? Or maybe Dunn really is starting to get pissed off about this thing dragging out, doesn't care that Mike Rizzo says he would prefer to extend him...but will still keep all options open.
Well, if Dunn is looking for love, look no further than the Angels' Torii Hunter, who would love to see Dunn on the Angels, according to MLB.com's Bill Ladson:
On an unrelated note, we would have watched the Home Run Derby Monday night had Adam Dunn been involved."If we acquire Adam Dunn that would be awesome for our ballclub. We would welcome him with open arms, but at the same time, we don't know what's going to happen. If he gets here, I would be excited. But right now, I haven't heard anything."
