(Danny Espinosa got a pie to the face from John Lannan for heroics on Labor Day. Was it whipped cream, or shaving cream? Screengrabs of TV/MASN by Nationals Enquirer staff.)
"It was a great day. I had so much fun."
(Danny Espinosa, via Nationals.com, 9/6/2010)"I don't want to be a bullpen guy."
(Scott Olsen, via Nationals Journal, 9/6/2010)
Danny's a keeper. Scott's not.
Nationals 13, Mets 3: Danny Espinosa's big home debut -- 4-5, 2 HR (grand slam), 6 RBI, helps secure win #60.
Rejoice: The Rigglemen lock up Nats' first season with more than 59 wins since 2007.
Scott Olsen: four fantastic no-hit innings in relief of Jordan Zimmermann, but still crying about being relegated to the bullpen. You'd be crying, too, if you the $100,000 checks for every crappy start stopped coming.
Here's the link to the video of Espi's pie in the face on MASNSports.com. Debbi Taylor heckles Danny with a "Welcome to the Big Leagues, Danny!" but then reassures the audience that Lannan used whipped cream instead of shaving cream. Did he?
And we'd be remiss if we didn't mention the absolute ass whooping that took place on Sunday in Pittsburgh. First road series win since May, Jason Marquis now safe and sound from the glue factory, and where, oh where, is that extension for Dunn?

I believe he used the extremely rare Aged White Cheddar Cheez Wiz.
