"I feel like I did when I was a rookie. I have a lot of spirit and a desire to return. I think I can play three or four more years in the form I am now...I want the chance and I believe one is going to appear. This time I will accept an offer like the one with the Nationals because I want to get back to the majors."

The Sammy Sosa watch is on: Will Jimbo make him another offer?
The Juicy details -- Disgraced former slugger attempting another comeback, claims he's had "calls" from interested teams, hints that he'd accept an offer like the one he rejected from the Nationals last season.
We say: offer him a Jim Bowden Special: Minor League Contract with an invite to Spring Training, $850,000 if he makes the Opening Day roster, load it up with incentives, call Miguel Tejada for some of those vitamin B-12 shots...

He might have to start bunting again if he ever wants to get on base.
Despite Bowden's lust for "splashy" deals like this, it totally flies in the face of the Lerner/Kasten strategy for rebuilding. They explicitly said they wouldn't sign Sosa-like players, instead we're trying to steal as many prospects as we can.
The only value to Sosa would be if he could get his swing back and be a trade during the season for prospects. He, like Ken Griffey, needs to switch to 1B or DH if he wants to continue his career.
