"It's important when you're trying to rebuild that you have assets to trade"
(Jim Bowden, via Washington Post, 2/14/2007)
Hey, why not? Dmitri Young, Tony Batista agree to minor league deals with NAAAtionals
Bowden clearing the shelves at the Bargain Basement: In Young and Batista NAAAts get a pair of low-risk backups, AND somebody has to DH in those 15 Interleague games in June, don't forget.
More hard-hitting analysis:
- For some reason the above video clip of Ex-Expo Batista (during 2005, his year in exile in Japan) makes us hope he makes the team.
- BotA asks: Does the Dmitri signing signal something about Nick J's recovery? It probably just signals something about JimBo's love for ex-Reds, that's all.

One word describes that video:
AWESOME!
(Though I'm pretty surprised to see Batista take a pitch.)

Yeah, it's good stuff. I think the poor guy nearly crapped his pants when Batista started running at him...

I hadn't noticed that, pete. What's the deal with the back pocket thing?
