"Give them some credit. We've got a good lineup. We just haven't produced."
(Tony La Russa, via St. Louis Post Dispatch, 8/05/2007)
NAAAts 12, Cards 1: Five in a row! Now that's what you'd call a good ol' fashioned ass kicking!
Zimmerman on fire! Congrats to Joel Hanrahan!
Admit it: you checked the standings (Wild Card, too) this morning, didn't you? 4th place will have to wait another day.
Meanwhile...
- Kasten melts down over Comcast/MASN blackout mixup! From the Washington Post: "On no occasion are the Nats responsible for which network carries the games ...This has happened too often. I'm damn tired of it." From the Washington Times: "They do this [bleeeeep!] all the time. The notion is stupid. ... We are the last people to have any control over any of this."
- Third base coach is a thankless job; just ask Tim Tolman.
- These InterFaith Conference people need to relax, just a little bit. No one is being forced to participate in "Faith Day", folks. Plus, Washington has to pay for Da Meathook's new contract somehow, right?
- Bonds ties Aaron. I bet you a dollar Bruce Bochy sits him today so he can break it at home. Be on the lookout for a mysterious wave of sore arms throughout the NAAAts pitching staff after today's game, since nobody wants to be "That Guy."

Just got back from Sunday's game. Boy, I love sending all of those fair weather Cardinal fans home to their stinkin' cow town with their tails between their legs.

Never been to St. Louis myself, but I'll take your word for it that it's a stinkin' cow town -- But for me, there's just something very satisfying about seeing Tony LaRussa lose.
