"Bowden never once made contact with myself or my agent before he announced it on the radio. I knew this was probably going to happen. For me, that's not the issue. The issue is how it went down. Five months away [from the non-tender deadline], only two weeks after I had surgery, that's what made this upsetting. It makes me kind of sad in a way. It's a little disrespectful."

A little disrespectful? No surprises: Another PR mishap by Jimbo and the Nats.
The walking, talking public relations trainwreck rolls on...
The decision to non-tender Chief is a no-brainer. But Jimbo's choice of where and when to make the official announcement? What an a-hole.
Clock's ticking, Jim. Seven days to (maybe) save your job...

I wonder how Estrada found out he was let go? Sky writing? In a birthday card to his kids? Seeing that the Nats had added a "Bye-bye Estrada" Bobblehead Day to the schedule?

Do we have to wait seven days? The Nats could still salvage the trade deadline if they act fast enough.

good question, harper! Our sources tell us they gave him a special three layer cake after the game yesterday, wrote it in icing on top: "See ya, lard ass!"
Hendo: i'm fully expecting a final flurry of moves down to the wire that will make the argument for keeping him a little stronger. And don't you expect him to make at least one final, desperate push for Adam Dunn?
