"As soon as I hit the ball, I knew I was going to third."
(Cristian Guzman, via Washington Post, 8/29/2008)
Nationals 11, Dodgers 2: Sweep!!? Guzman hits for the cycle, Elijah Dukes goes deep twice, Nats bury d-o-n-e Dodgers, break out their spoiler caps a few weeks early.
Look out above, here they come! Just 25 games back in the NL East! Just 28.5 games back in the Wild Card! There's still time!
Meanwhile...
- Season-ending injury shocker! Shawn Hill done for the year with swelling in his elbow. Seems like just yesterday Jimbo was talking about how he'd be back the second week of September.
- Some a-hole over at ESPN Page 2 piles on Jason Bergmann for his offensive ineptitude.
- Finally, Thom Loverro of the Washington Times chimes in on the Invisible Stan. Like we said, Stan Kasten hates his job.

I liked the Bergy/Koufax comparison at the end of the ESPN item.

Yeah, I liked that too, Hendo. Probably the first and last time Bergmann and Koufax will be found in the same sentence.
