Not a single knee-jerk move today? Like, yanking freshly re-minted closer Joel Hanrahan out of the closer role and naming Alex Cintron his replacement? After Manny's postgame comments last night, we thought for sure at least one head would roll. Not one DFA? Nobody boarding the bus to Syracuse?
"We're just going to have to change the mind-set over there. Some things have to change. Just change it up, because it's not working." (Manny Acta, via Washington Post, 5/19/2009)
Meanwhile...bad news reported by MASN's Pete McElroy: Elijah Dukes is heading to the DL.
But good news: Ross Detwiler will get at least one more start. And strangely enough, despite the aforementioned bad news: Chico Harlan reports: "Dukes, with limited mobility, is available as a pinch-hitter." So, is it DL or no DL for Dukes?
Finally: we'd like to offer our condolences to Dmitri Young and his family.
