Daniel Cabrera. To the bullpen. You can't make this stuff up.
The question: "Is it possible for the Nationals' bullpen to be any worse?" is answered with an emphatic: Yes!
We're all for removing Cabrera from the rotation, but sticking him in the bullpen? In Long relief? Really? Why not just eat the rest of the $2.6 million and release him, you cheap bastards?
Craig Stammen will take Wild Danny's spot in the rotation:
"Stammen fit the rotation requirements and he's earned it. He pitched outstanding down in Triple-A." (Mike Rizzo, via MASNSports dot com, 5/20/2009)
(Just what are those rotation requirements anyway, Mike?)

Best idea I've heard yet: have Zimmermann/Martis and Detwiler/Stammen pitch games in tandem, each throwing five and four innings and switching back and forth as to who starts each time around.
That way with we'd have MLB quality pitching for nine innings in at least 40% of our games.

I don't know bdrube...here's a better idea: Bring back Mike Bacsik.
The good news is that Cabrera is just one bad inning away from being released (right?)
