(AP Photo. Jordan Zimmermann, above, May 27th, 2009: waiting for the umps to make a bogus decision on a disputed HR call against the Mets. The umps eventually used video replay to overturn the original call on the field and rule Daniel Murphy's phantom homerun a homerun. Manny Acta -not pictured - is just off to the right on the top step of the dugout vehemently not arguing the call.)
Bill Ladson reports on Jordan Zimmermann's latest and greatest bullpen session Friday...
"He looks great. He has to take it nice and slow and stay with the program. He is doing that."

Given this kids' drive, it could be hard to keep him from trying to exceed expectations (& the MD's orders). Didn't he try taking the mound in college just a short time after eating a line-drive?

Yeah, I seem to remember the common adjective used to describe Zimmermann last season before he got hurt was "bulldog". But Ladson has written a couple of times now that Rizzo won't consider pitching him in live game action until August at the earliest. And that's a good thing. 2011 or bust, BinM!
