One that got away.
Giants 5, Nationals 4: This one felt sort of like getting mauled by a bear. Or so Tyler Walker would have you believe:
"It's bear hunting. Sometimes you get the bear, and sometimes the bear gets you. Too bad we were on the bad end of it today."
(Tyler Walker, via Nats Insider, 5/27/2010)
The bear got 'em today. By the way, that's the best quote by a Nationals player since Julian Tavarez compared the Nationals to a 600 lb. J-Lo.
Riggleman should've left Stammen in in the 7th. Or so Stammen would have you believe:
"Yes, I would have liked to be left in... There's no second-guessing. Who's to say I would have got the next guy out? I think in my head I would have gotten him out. But that's the way it is."
(Craig Stammen, via Nationals Journal, 5/27/2010)
Meanwhile...
It's not sounding good for Scott Olsen's shoulder.

Well, now we know who's place in the rotation SS will be filling: Olsen's. Detwiler, Wang and Zim-double-N can't come back fast enough.

@bdrube: Yeah, it's a real shame about Olsen...just when it seemed he had figured "it" out. Doesn't look good.
And isn't Wang supposed to be making a rehab start in the next week or two?
Hope they take it extra slow and steady with Z-NN...thinking about a 2011 rotation with SS & Z-NN 1-2 makes me positively giddy.
