(All smiles these days for Austin Kearns, whose career has come back from the dead in Cleveland. Photo by AP.)
...had himself quite the weekend in Baltimore, huh?
Who is this guy hitting .330 / .402 / .532 with 3 HR, 20 RBI in 26 games?
Really, just who IS this guy, and what did he do with the guy who mostly just stunk from 2006-2009 in Washington? Would be nice to start getting production like that out of the Bernadina/Morse/Guzman/Harris RF platoon, eh? Riggles has Willie Harris starting in RF and leading off tonight.
Meanwhile, the other key piece in the trade that would epitomize Jim Bowden's time in D.C. was activated from the DL today, just in time to bat leadoff for the Cards. Apparently, FLoP hurt his already-ailing elbow after making an appearance out of the bullpen in that Cards-Mets marathon a few weeks ago. And get this, Felipe Lopez is a team player now!
"I never say no to whatever. If the team needs me and I have only one leg, I'll do it. It's whatever I can do to help the team."

Pfffffttt!!!!
Okay, Stammen goes tonight in St. Louis, trying to stop the Nats' 3-game losing streak in its tracks. Maybe a chance to see Drew Storen as the Bridge to Capps?
[UPDATE]
*Thanks to @ Section138 and @ misschatter for kicking us in the ass over the dumb post title: Kearns hasn't played a single game in RF this season for Manny Acta. He's playing LF. The person responsible for the error has been fired. But the point stands: Who the hell IS this guy posing as Austin Kearns, and wouldn't it be nice to get production like that out of the RF platoon?

Well, good for Austin. I always liked him even though he mostly stunk. FLop, however, can kiss my behind.

Well, if anyone was going to give him another chance, it was Manny Acta...

Curious that MissChatter is following the lowly Cleveland Indians. Stranger still in that Gary Bennett does not play for them.
