(Livan Hernandez gets a warm reception as he walks off the field at Nationals Park for the last time in 2010. See you on Opening Day next year, Livo. Picture of TV/MASN by Nationals Enquirer staff.)
"I feel really happy. Two-hundred innings is not easy. It's like a hitter hitting 30 home runs."
(Livan Hernandez, via Nationals Journal, 9/26/2010)
Thanks for the innings, Livo.
Nats take season series from Braves (!?), 10-8.
Nationals 4, Braves 2 (Sunday): Livan Hernandez gets the no-decision, Desmond delivers win #67, win #1 for Sean Burnett. Bobby Cox sent packing with a loss and a nice pregame ceremony courtesy of Stan Kasten. Say what you want about Stan, but he always knew how to make the visitors feel welcome at Nationals Park.
Braves 5, Nationals 0 (Saturday): Oh Maya! Something tells me we're always going to be lamenting that one bad inning from Yunesky Maya from here on out. If only Rizzo had signed that other Cuban defector. We got the soft-tossing guy.
Meanwhile...
