Above, riveting video of a bunt single by Bryce Harper during Scottsdale's 9-3 win over Surprise back on November 3rd (he later scored).
And so Bryce Harper committed his first error of the Arizona Fall League season Saturday afternoon (a fielding error which cost Scottsdale a run in the second inning in a 4-3 loss to Surprise). He later stole his first base of the AFL season after reaching on an error, then scored a run on a balk.
Despite an 0-3 day at the plate on Saturday, through 8 games (yes, a tiny sample size) the Bryce Harper AFL Experiment is going swimmingly:
Here's Mike Rizzo on Harper, via MASN's Byron Kerr a few days ago:
"The competition alone for him playing in the Arizona fall league is tremendous for him and for his development... I don't care whatsoever what his batting average is. I saw him play several times in Arizona. He is taking good at bats. He is not over matched. He is learning his craft. He is going to make himself a player."

And did we mention the kid can lay down a bunt?
