In case you were wondering what Jason Marquis thought about Felix Hernandez winning the AL Cy Young Award with just 13 wins, here you go: Marquis doesn't agree with the result (David Price would've been his choice). Here's Marquis, who apparently is not a Sabermatrician, quoted via SILive.com:
"That's what baseball's turning into. (Hernandez) had a great season, no doubt. But to me, baseball is about winning games."

Baseball is about winning games. So sayeth the Nationals $15 million dollar man who won exactly two games for the Nationals in 2010.
Here's more Marquis, talking about the bone chips in his elbow which shortened his season and offered an easy explanation for his putrid performance:
"I felt great in the offseason; it happened halfway through spring training. I didn't open my mouth about it, and by the time I did it was too late. I had cost my team some games."

At least the check had already cleared by then. When Mike Rizzo signed Marquis just before last Christmas, Marquis was being tabbed as staff Ace. We all know how that turned out. Any chance Jason Marquis can be a useful, say, #4 starter for the Nationals in 2011? Or will the truck to the glue factory be showing up at Nationals Park to pick up Marquis in April?

I saw him pitch his last game of the season, a tough gritty performance (abiet against Philly's junior varsity.) Don't write him off yet. He wouldn't be the first pitcher to come back from elbow surgery and be effective.
