Not sure what to make of the video above...other than to say it is fairly brilliant (as much as it hurts to give credit to anything produced by Phillies fans). For example, when the little Cliff Lee character says in his computerized voice:
"Too bad you signed with one of the shittiest teams in baseball. But it could be worse, you could have signed with the Pirates or Mets."
God, don't you just hate Philly fans? But have to hand it to 'em. This little video is truly brilliant. And this exchange:
Lee: How's it going
Werth: Good. I'm swimming in money. And because I'm moving to Washington D.C., there's like a 50% chance I will live next to Barack Obama.
Lee: Well if that doesn't work out perhaps you could live in Donovan McNabb's basement.
Werth: You are right. I forgot he plays for the Redskins. They are a good football team. Just kidding.
Meanwhile, here's Philies GM Ruben Amarro Jr., talking about Jayson Werth and a text message he received from Werth in the wake of the Cliff Lee signing (via Philly.com, 12/16/2010):
"I love the guy. I wish we had him back. Sometimes you have to make tough choices. For us, having a No. 1 starter as compared to a righthanded bat, the impact on our club was greater.
Is that the right way to look at things? I don’t know. For me, it is. I got a long text message from him last night booing me, in classic Philly style. He was upset. But hey, that’s how it works sometimes. Business is business. There are tough decisions.
I think he was half kidding. We were joking back and forth. I told him he could still have been on our club if he accepted arbitration."

*sigh*

Someday soon when the Phillies show their age and are crippled financially by by the Lee & Howard contracts and residing in the NL East basement, we shall all have a good laugh. That video is hilarious, BTW.

"Great I'm going to get shit on by the fans."
LOL! Not only at Citizens bank park, but Nationals Park when Phillies come to Washington!
