(Fear not, Nationals fans: we hear Pedro Astachio is available. Photo via Newscom by UPI/Gary C. Caskey.)
Halladay and Lee and Oswalt and Hamels...and pray for rain?
Phillies get their man. Cliff Lee returning for 5 years, ~$100 million.
Start printing those World Series tickets, Philadelphia.
And if it's possible, the NL East just got more difficult for the Nationals?
Okay Mike Rizzo: time to load up with Zack Greinke AND Carl Pavano now -- or should we just chalk this one up as another lost offseason for the Nationals?

I've given up the whole season. While I would never wish anyone ill-will, I am hoping for 3 blown shoulders (they are harder to return from than regular arm injuries) and a Tommy John. Oh, and a situation where the Phillies don't have enough money to pay all their bills.

In connection with my above comment, all 4 pitchers would still get paid their salaries if they were injured so it is just the team, not the individual pitchers that I want to suffer.

Going up against the Phillies the next two years is going to be painful. But let's get real....aren't the Nats REALLY looking at 2012, 2013, 2014 (hopefully we'll still have Zim). Getting stomped by the Phillies in '11, and maybe '12 though I'll take a 24 year old Strasburg and a 27 year old Zimmermann against an aging Halladay and Lee at 35 and 34.
