(No need to get your hopes up. Screen grab of TV/MASN.)
Marlins 1, Nationals 0: Nats have no answers for Anibal Sanchez, as usual. Two on, nobody out in the 9th against Leo Nunez, and nothing but zeroes courtesy of LaRoche, Ramos, and Hairston.
Livo's one mistake to Mike Stanton, the difference.
Silver lining: The Capital K's kept the strikeouts in single digits (9).
"Obviously, we're working hard and the results just aren't there. But it's a long season. It's a game of averages. We play 162 games in six months, and that's why they decided to make the season that long."
(Jayson Werth, via NatsInsider, 5/14/2011)
Obviously. But anyone else get the feeling that even if the season was 324 games over 12 months, this team still wouldn't hit enough to win more than they lose? Good thing Ryan Zimmerman is walking again. Correction: he's jogging! Next question: Will Zimmerman be back by July? By the All-Star break?
