How strange that on the same night when the Nationals bullpen pitched five scoreless innings to keep the game within reach and make an amazing 9th inning comeback possible, the above shot of a Nats fan wearing the jersey of perhaps the worst relief pitcher in the brief history of the Washington Nationals would appear on TV.

It seems Michael Morse can do no wrong these days.
Except when he's tasked with dumping the Gatorade bucket on Wilson Ramos during Ramos' post-game interview following his walk-off heroics Tuesday night. What happened? Did MASN's Debbi Taylor tip off Ramos? That might be the fastest we've seen Ramos run since he arrived in Washington.

Perhaps looking to change his luck after a mostly disappointing start to the first of seven seasons in Washington, Jayson Werth showed up mostly clean-shaven for Tuesday night's game with the Mariners: His beard is gone. Baby-faced Werth led off the first inning with a single - later made an error.

Admit it: To this day, without fail, you still think "Chief" when you see a flat-brimmed Nats cap. It'll probably always be that way.
It's hard to imagine the personal and professional heartache the Chief has been through the last couple of years -- can only wish him the best as he moves on and thank him for the great memories.
And here's the Chief, striking out none other than Jayson Werth for the final out of the final Nationals game ever at RFK in 2007. End of an era. Godspeed, Chief:
