Nats re-sign Chien-Ming Wang for another year

Above, video of Chien-Ming Wang signing autographs before the second game of the Taiwan All-Star series. Madness. If Michael Morse feels like Brad Pitt over there; Chien-Ming Wang must feel like the Beatles.

Oh, and as expected, the Washington Nationals and Chien-Ming Wang have agreed on another 1-year deal ($4 million). And so, a Nats rotation starting with Strasburg, Zimmermann, and Wang for 2012? This is good news...

Just counting down the days now until Opening Day, April 5...

Michael Morse says he feels like Brad Pitt

So Michael Morse and Ross Detwiler were out signing autographs for the adoring public on Wednesday; and here's Morse on the reaction he's getting from fans:

Davey doesn't rule out Bryce Harper starting 2012 season in Washington

Above, video of the absolute bomb Bryce Harper hit last night in Arizona Fall League action, his 5th home run and 17th RBI in his last 8 games.

In an interview on 106.7 The Fan's Mike Wise show with Holden Kushner on Wednesday, Davey Johnson left open the possibility that Harper could start the 2012 season in Washington:

Kushner: "Are you going to give him [Harper] a legit shot to make the major league roster, or is something where he needs more development?"

Davey: "Guys, I'm going to go north with the best group of guys I can lay my hands on, okay? I'm gonna keep an open mind and I said that once before...I said that to Rizzo, about a guy named Dwight Gooden. I said just keep an open mind going into spring. ...No, you're not reaching at all. A lot depends on if we can pick up ...a center fielder, a frontline center fielder. And I dont' see us doing that on the free agent market."

Given the way Harper has been hitting in the Arizona Fall League, doesn't seem like such a stretch...

Here's Michael Morse doing his pre-AB yoga thing in Taiwan

Good to see Michael Morse on TV (even on tape delay) Tuesday night in the first game of the 2011 Taiwan All-Star series; and good to see Morse is still keeping with his yoga poses before each at bat. In typical Beast Mode fashion, Morse crushed an RBI double (5th inning).
