While you're sitting around wondering what time Scott Boras's flight arrives at Reagan National on Friday (we're kidding, of course), up above is the latest and greatest Michael Morse ad for 22 Fresh (image lifted from the 22 Fresh FB page). Maybe if this whole baseball thing doesn't work out, Michael Morse has a fallback career in modeling waiting for him? Based on this winter alone, Morse certainly seems to be on a fast track: Back in December, there was the Michael Morse BeastMode Collection campaign. And who can forget Michael Morse in a Santa hat with a bat on his shoulder?
*sigh* There's only, what, 30 days until pitchers and catchers report? Wonder if Prince Fielder will have a new home by then?

I can't wait to see how Morse responds after this off season with all the attention he's been getting. He seems ripe for a "sophomore" slump. I think he's the real deal, but we'll see.

Perhaps he needs to lose his arbitration case, so that the anger can put him in Beast Mode all year. We definitely need him to at least approach last year's numbers.

Much as I love Michael Morse (and I sure do loves me some Michael Morse), I'm not entirely convinced that he's worth the $5 million he's asking for. I can't blame the guy, however, for wanting to get the best deal possible.
On the other hand, as someone who waited years for DC to have a team again, I hope that the owners recognize the value in developing and keeping fan favorites like him. Zimmerman has always been presented as "Here he is, your face of the franchies," whereas Morse has worked to win a place in our hearts.
