(Stephen Strasburg looked quite pleased with himself after his infield hit Tuesday night. Screengrab via MLB.com)
Stephen Strasburg registered his best start of the spring on Tuesday night against the Mets. His line: 5.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 3 K, 1 HR. 6-3 groundouts-strikeouts, 85 pitches, 54 strikes. Oh, and his breaking ball was nasty (just ask poor Adam Loewen).
Best of all, Stras ripped the first hit of the spring for a Nationals pitcher in the first AB of the spring by a Nationals pitcher (on the first pitch of the AB, no less), a third inning shot that ate up Mets 2B Daniel Murphy. Score an infield hit for Baseball Jesus. Hey, just one more hit, and Stras will match Michael Morse's hit total this spring (2). On an unrelated note: How's Morse's "lat strain" doing, anyway?
