Joe Namath? Bitch Boy? How about: Charlie Hustle Jr.?
"He hustled. He plays hard. He’s a throwback. He plays the game right." (Davey Johnson, via Nationals Journal, 3/5/2012)
Bryce Harper beat out what probably should have been a routine ground out in the sixth inning Monday night against the Mets for an infield hit. Channelling Ichiro, apparently, with his approach at the plate:
"I just tried to Ichiro it. ... I just tried to put the bat on the ball. And I started running." (Bryce Harper, via @MarkZuckerman, 3/5/2012)
See you on Opening Day at Wrigley Field, Kid.

1. I am getting stirrups.
2. The little cynic on my shoulder is whispering "Scott says, bunt, whatever, anything to get the BA up around .400, and then let them explain why you're not on the roster April 1."
3. The little fanboy on my other shoulder is saying, "He noticed the 3rd baseman was being slow and careful with his grip on throws, and did all that Ichiro stuff on purpose. Genius!"
