(Reading Steve McCatty's lips: "WTF, Tom!?" Screencap via MASN/TV)
"Gorzo kind of had to take it on his chin."
(Davey Johnson, via post game interview/MASN, 4/19/2012)
Astros 1, Nationals 4: Edwin Jackson blows up in 5-run first, recovers after rough start. Zim hits first HR to make it a 1-run game. And then Tom Gorzelanny pretty much soaked the ballgame in gasoline and lit a match.
Meanwhile...Jayson Werth pulled from game early due to nagging hip injury. Uh oh?

Davey, when will you learn from this?

It isn't Davy's decision whether Gorzo stays on the roster--it's Rizzo's. If he's in the bullpen, Davy has to use him at some point even though he is the obviously the weakest link right now.

Yes, very true. I for one would be very interested to know what Rizzo & the Lerners see in Gorzo or if they're just holding on to him until Storen/Wang come back. Surely there would have been some equal alternative in the minors as it seems like letting Gorzo go before the season would have saved the Nats a bunch of money.
But it's exactly as Davey said after the game. He now has a fresh bullpen for the Marlins series and they took care of it last night!
