And so, Stephen Strasburg left Wednesday's game in Toronto in the sixth with a cut on his finger. Stras explains:
"It was nothing major. I wanted to go out there again. I was trying to fight for it, but they were pretty committed on getting me out of there. It is what it is, but it's a long season, so I've just got to try to roll with it and go out there and pitch next time. ... I tried to tell them that I was feeling good and everything was working, so I wanted to go back out there and get through the seventh and get deeper in the ballgame. But it's out of my control."

According to MLB.com, Stras cut his finger clipping his nail:
Before the sixth inning, Strasburg was trimming his nail and cut it, which created a little bit of trouble gripping one of his pitches throughout his last inning of work.
Gee, we're surprised Rob Dibble hasn't chimed with any helpful suggestions for dealing with the bleeding? Or did he? Was this cryptic Tweet from last night intended for Stras?
OMG hide the Nail Polish? Yeah, it probably was...

It's odd how virulent he is about Strasburg. Stras clearly didn't take himself out of the game. Also, as someone who had his career curtailed by having his arm blow out, you would think Dibble would be more sympathetic with trying to protect the teams greatest (second greatest?) asset. Losing a number of productive years cost Dibble millions.

What's with these pitchers? They incur the most ridiculous injuries between starts...and in this case, between innings.
That's it, Strasburg should not be allowed to use any tools. Trainers should do his nails.
