Required reading this morning: this LA Times story on Nats #1 pick in the 2012 MLB First-Year Player Draft Lucas Giolito, in which we learn that that kid who was once projected by some experts as the overall #1 pick in this year's draft and once threw a no-no enjoys playing the French horn.
And here's a description of when Nat Gio II sprained the ulner collateral ligament in his right elbow shortly after hitting six digits on the radar gun, via LA Times:
There was no pain, no telltale "pop" indicating a problem. But a week after throwing 100 mph, something was amiss with that valuable right arm. ...
"Ohhhh," Giolito thought to himself. "That didn't feel very good."

Ohhhh! And Giolito is on Twitter! @LGio27. And the kid hated math class, BTW:

So long as he knows that a 2.99 ERA is better than a 3.99 ERA and it's 60'6" from the pitching rubber to homeplate and 90 feet from homeplate to 1st base so don't hesitate covering 1st when a guy like Michael Bourn is at-bat as Speed + 90 feet is > than hesitation + 60'6"
