And so, like Henry Rodriguez a few nights ago, a pitch got away from Tyler Clippard last night and flew to the screen. One difference: Henry's was a 97 MPH heater; Clippard's was more like a 50 MPH Livan Hernandez junkball that slipped out of his hand. Another, perhaps bigger, difference: the reaction by fans behind home plate: Henry made a guy spill his beer, scaring the crap out of him. The guy last night (see big yellow arrow in the screen cap above) coolly pretended to try to catch the ball.
No biggie; despite walking two, Clippard eventually struck out Ryan Howard to nail down his 21st save (video here).
