And so, it was 2009 when President Obama turned down an offer by the Nationals to throw out the first pitch on Opening Day and later went on to trash the Nats at the All-Star Game:
"Everyone around the country has a little bit of hope for their team...Maybe with the exception of the Nationals."Now it seems Mr. President is singing a different tune (via AP H/T DC Sports Bog):
Obama says during a campaign stop in Virginia that he is "looking forward to a White Sox-Nationals World Series." The president says, "It’s going to happen."Just don't ask Mr. President to name his favorite White Sox or Nationals players not named Bryce Harper; remember, his favorite team is the White Sox, and his second fave is the Nats.
"We were talking about one of the biggest stars right now in Washington, is Bryce Harper, who comes out of Nevada, and I know folks are really proud of him. He's doing great. And it's my second favorite team now, after the Chicago White Sox."
(President Barack Obama, via KSNV video, 7/9/2012)

His favorite team isn't the White Sox, its the White House.
Clearly he is another Washingtonian on the bandwagon after dissing the team 3 years ago.
