“I was so excited for him. With these fans going crazy, booing him, telling him he [stinks] and whatnot, they don’t know what they’re missing. He’s an unbelievable ballplayer. He’s what gets us going.”
(Bryce Harper, via Washington Post, 9/27/2012)"Boooooo!!!!!!!"
(Phillies fans, via Citizens Bank Park, 9/26/2012)
Quite the scene in the 9th inning Wednesday night, when Jayson Werth (in the on deck circle) fake-tossed a Danny Espinosa foul ball to Phillies fans, only to roll the ball into the Nats dugout. A chorus of boos ensued (video)...and then Werth singled up the middle (video) to drive in two and send most of the fans who remained at Citizens Bank Park home.
Nats win, magic number down to 4.

Former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell wasn’t buying Werth’s excuse, and provided his own thoughts on the former Phillies right fielder. “Well, it’s a seven letter word Angelo [Cataldi], and the first letter is “A” and the last letter is “E”!,” Rendell told 94WIP’s Angelo Cataldi and The WIP Morning Show on Thursday.
