If you didn't love Gio Gonzalez BEFORE last night, then how about his post game interview with MASN's Kristina Akra, in which he hugged Mark Lerner (who was in a walking boot) and yelled into the camera:
"The pimp with the limp right here! The pimp with the limp! And he came out! And he came out! That's the love right there...Oh my God. I can't hug him too much. The guy is walking around with a limp."
...and also (via Mark Zuckerman/Nats Insider) dumped a beer on Nats owner Ted Lerner's head in the clubhouse:
Over in a corner of the room, managing principal owner Ted Lerner -- maybe the only person in the building alive for Washington's last baseball title in 1933 -- watched with a smile on his face, an "NL East Champions" T-shirt over his dress clothes.
Gio Gonzalez marched over and dumped a beer on the 86-year-old's head.
"Looked forward to it," Lerner said.
File under: 2 more reasons to love Gio Gonzalez.
I don’t know what was better, watching the Nationals celebrating their NL East title or seeing Kristina Akra wet. She is a goddess whether wet or dry, wooo! The Mayans were right, the world will be ending on 12/21/2012. Incidentally, your website is the best Nats site out there. Let's Go Nats!
