"Kind of embarrassing, when everyone in the stadium is clapping against you when you're at home."
(Ian Desmond, via Washington Post, 9/28/2010)
"That's
just the way it is. The Philly fans are die-hard. They came down here.
That's how it always is. Hopefully it changes over the next couple
years."
(John Lannan, via Nats Insider, 9/27/2010)
In 2007, 2008, and 2010, the Phillies clinched the NL East against the Nationals. 2010 was probably worst of all of 'em, since it happened at Nationals Park, with ~80% of the place filled with Phillies fans. Quotes above from Ian Desmond and John Lannan tell the story. The screencap above from that night helps, too.
Nats have three chances to get a little revenge, and exorcise more demons starting tonight. Perfecly fitting that John Lannan takes the hill. Clinch this thing and pop some champagne tonight, boys.
