Since the Nationals and Orioles are both in the postseason (at least until tonight is over), there's still a slim possibility of a Nats-O's World Series. Since that possibility could be off the table later tonight, we thought we'd take a moment to mention that time during his 10 year exile from baseball when Orioles GM Dan Duquette took part in a community theatre production of Damn Yankees in Western Massachusetts. Naturally, the ex-Expos GM Duquette played Washington Senators manager Van Buren, and sang "You gotta have heart", as was noted by lots of folks when he was hired by Peter Angelos last November. There's a photo of Duquette, above, via Berkshire Eagle.com.
It almost feels like that Kevin Bacon game with all the Nats-Expos-Duquette-Orioles-Rangers-Senators connections in play here...
Meanwhile...start times and umpires have been announced for the NLDS. Hey! The Nats got screwed on both accounts!

F--- Angelos and his team! Duquette is just another talking puppet for Angelos. That team is held together by tape and paperclips.
If they lose tonight, I will be celebrating!

So, that's how he met Mr. Applegate. It all makes sense now!

A classic damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario. I'd prefer the Orioles to loose, but even tho basball has returned to DC, I still can't abide actually rooting for the Rangers. But which bird do you think bears a suspicious resemblance to Joe Hardy?

J.J. HARDY!
