Oh, sure, expectations are sky high for the Washington Nationals; but two days into full-squad workouts and not a single player quoted in the media as being in the best shape of his life? Well, Mike Rizzo nearly absolved the entire team of this abomination in comments captured by the Washington Post's Adam Kilgore on Monday:
"I’m pleased with the physical condition everyone showed up in. Guys are in shape. They’re getting their cardio in. They’re
getting their work in. [The weight room] is jam-packed. Guys are willing
to go in there, they want to go in there. I think it shows on the
field, where guys can get their throwing in and their running."
