Set aside the fact that the Washington Nationals acquired their very own version of Bucky Dent in the form of Pete Kozma last October in the NLDS.
On Saturday, in the 22nd round of the MLB Draft, the Nationals selected infielder Cody Dent, son of Bucky Dent, with overall pick number 676. Via MLB.com:
Cody Dent had a forgettable season for the Gators this year. He started 24 games, mostly at third base, and batted .134 with seven walks and four RBIs. He led the Gators with 10 sacrifice hits.
With numbers like that, he'd fit right in around here: might as well sign Dent quickly and call him up immediately, maybe bat him cleanup?
