What better way to celebrate your return from the DL and debut with a new team than with a wild, airmailed throw to first?
Up above, a GIF by the great @md_dc of Doug Fister's wild, airmailed throw in the first inning Friday night in Oakland, which eventually cost him (and, you know, the Nationals) a run.
It didn't get much better for Fister after that, and his final line in his debut with the Nationals (4.1 IP, 9 H, 7 R, 5 ER, 2 K, 3 HR, 79 pitches) was eerily similar to the 2013 debut of Dan Haren: 4 IP, 9 H, 6 ER, 5 K, 4 HR, 78 pitches.
Anyway, good to have Fister back in the rotation; here's to hoping for better results next time.
