So this Jayson Werth Garden Gnome thing is officially a thing. Jayson Werth homered Friday night (video here), and suddenly every available inch of digital signage around Nationals Park read "GNOME RUN", with a photo of everyone's favorite rally gnome. #GnomeRun was trending on Twitter in Washington DC shortly thereafter on Friday night.
We'll go out on a limb and guess the Nationals were hoping to use this back on Jayson Werth Garden Gnome Day, but alas, Werth did not homer that day. But since Jayson Werth Garden Gnome Day, when fans lined up for many hours before gates opened, the Jayson Werth Garden Gnome has been a fixture in the Nationals dugout during the current 10-game winning streak: appearing in Doug Fister's shirt and keeping watch on top of a Gatorade cooler.
