Quick, someone from the Nationals send Santana Moss a Nats cap.
Okay, Santana Moss was born in Miami and played his college ball at The U; so the guy at least has a good reason to show up at a post-game interview with CSN Washington wearing a Florida Marlins lid after contributing to the Redskins 17-13 loss to the Vikings. It's not the first time he's worn a Marlins' cap, afterall.
But the timing is bad, especially considering the news on Sunday of the Marlins signing Javier Vazquez, one of the only free agent pitching options available to the Nationals this offseason who fell into the category of "upgrade" (we're using the term, "upgrade", loosely here). So it stings a little.
Now, this little Marlins cap flap isn't even remotely on the level of the Clinton Portis Phillies Cap Flap, but still...it's the NL East, you know? And now Mike Rizzo has as good a chance of signing a unicorn this offseason as he does signing a decent starting pitcher on the free agent market.
