(Davey Johnson, new Nationals manager. Screen grab via NY Post video.)
Davey Johnson to manage the Washington Nationals...
...with no interim label. Until 2013? Via Jon Heyman of SI.com:
Davey's nationals contract runs thru 2013, when he'll be 70. So he didn't want to be lame duck manager, either.
Clearly, this is not how Mike Rizzo drew up Phase 2...

Can he do for the Nats (39 - 37) what Bucky has done for the O's (34 - 39)?
At least it settles things for a year and a half.
I wonder if Davey will have direct access to the Lerners?
Notice how the Lerners were barely mentioned in the Rizzo-Rigglemen stories? Was Rizzo not telling them about Riggleman's discontent; or, did they tell Rizzo to stonewall Riggleman?
