Tyler Clippard's Rally Goggles Didn't Work

Tyler Clippard did his job Sunday, pitching a scoreless 8th against the Reds to maintain a 3-3 game; but then Drew Storen blew a 4-3 Nats lead in the 9th, coughing up a game-tying home run to Yonder Alonso.

And so all Tyler Clippard could do was flip his patented goggles upside down in extra innings: rally goggles. It didn't work. Joey Votto hit a gift walk off HR in the bottom of the 14th off Collin Balester (after home plate umpire Sam Holbrook blew a strike three call). Tough loss: six in a row.
