(Steve Lombardozzi notched his first major league hit Monday night. Screen grab via MASN/TV.)
And so, Steve Lombardozzi collected his his first major league hit & RBI (video here) Monday night against the Mets after an 0-15 start to his career (note, it was his 17th plate appearance, with 1 BB previously). That's a game winner, folks; with his dad in the stands watching, no less. Somewhat surprisingly, Lombardozzi made it through his entire postgame interview with MASN's Debbi Taylor without getting smacked in the face with a shaving cream pie.
In his own postgame interview, Davey Johnson found an excuse to bring up the fact that he watched Harry Potter earlier in the day, while answering a question about what he thought about Lombo finally getting hit #1:
"Well, I thought it was great and I thought it was a fitting inning. I saw Harry Potter today, so maybe we got a little magic there..."

Sweet 16! The GW RBI.
That's the worst looking jersey lettering I have seen. Jordan Zimmermann's last name is 1 letter shorter than Lombardozzi. Are you telling me that is necessary to do it that way? Enquiring minds want to know!
