“It’s definitely the best team we’ve had since I’ve been here.”
(Ryan Zimmerman, via 9/28/2011)
Looking back at our predictions post back in March for 2011, we saw a 72-win, fourth place team. Progress was framed as "just win a few more than 2010, and don't finish in the NL East basement." Instead, the Nats finish 80-81: 44-36 at home, 36-45 on the road. Not too shabby.
So, how many days until Opening Day 2012?

One Hundred Thirty-Seven.
One Hundred Eighty-Nine.

Still not sure what I was supposed to EXPECT.
Jim Riggleman with a Winning record?
Davey Johnson with a Losing record?
Danny Espinosa with a higher Batting Average, more Home Runs and more RBI than Jason Werth?
Strasburg with two Decisions?
Liván Hernández still pitching? (Actually, that I did expect)
Playing a game in Miami's (Pick a name, any name) Stadium with fans actually in the stands?
Sweeping the Philies? Even if it didn't really count.
Or, a bunch of other things.
I am expecting better things when Spring Training begins in 137 days.
