So that's why he sucks! Nationals.com reports that Yunesky Maya is experiencing elbow soreness in Puerto Rican Winter ball:
Nationals pitcher Yunesky Maya has a sore right elbow, but the injury is not considered serious, according to a baseball source.
Maya pitched in his first game for Criollos de Caguas of the Puerto Rican Winter League this past Friday and allowed four runs in one inning. It was during the first inning against Carolina when he started feeling pain in his elbow. In the second inning, the pain became worse after allowing two more runners to reach base, and Maya was immediately taken out of the game. (via Nationals.com, 11/7/2011)
Four runs in one inning? That would qualify as a pretty damn good inning for Yunesky Maya, wouldn't it?
Meanwhile, the $8 million Mike Rizzo flushed down the toilet on old man Maya is nothing compared to the expected $30+ million expected to be paid out for "26 year old" power hitting CF and Cuban defector Yoenis Cespedes, who is on the Nats radar (according to Adam Kilgore/Washington Post). Our sources say Cespedes is actually old enough to be Yunesky Maya's father.
hope family of maya joins him soon suerte
