Last week, we asked when we should start worrying about Michael Morse. On Sunday, MLB.com's Bill Ladson reported that Morse won't play in a Major League exhibition game for at least a week. Oh, sure, he can swing it in the minors. But will he be allowed to throw a baseball? And, why can't he throw a baseball?
Just so we're all on the same page: we're still talking about a lat strain, correct?
Well, at least there's Xavier Nady.

Everyone....down here in Viera, we have been assured that both Beast Mode and LaRoche are fine and due to their veteran status, are being held out till the final 10 days. The club wants to overly rest thier nagging lat and ankle issue. Both are getting ab's in minor league camp

What I don't understand about Morse's "Lat Strain" is how this could happen? Didn't he stay in shape this winter? What was he doing during the off season and how did he strain it?

I wouldn't panic two weeks into spring training about strains. If we hear the words 'torn' or 'broken', then panic. And even the most in-shape person sometimes tweaks a muscle. Muscle strains just happen.
It's all good. It's March and things look really, really good.

We're DC fans. Of course it's time to start panicking. Not just about Morse. You know Zimm's gonna injure something. There's no way LaRoche will be 100%. Desi and Espy are gonna hit around .230. The new normal for Werth is .235. Ramos will come down with PTSD due to the kidnapping. We'll be lucky to win 60 games.
Dang, it felt good to get that out of my system. LET'S GO NATS!!

I don't think we'd be this upset if we didn't have fresh memories of Adam La Roche's "'tis but a flesh wound!" protestations last season. There's also Cole Kimball. And J.Zimmermann. And, heck, even Strasburg--didn't the Nats tell us they were OK until we found out, much to our dismay, that they really weren't?
