Here's a video of Bryce Harper getting heckled while playing CF in a game last weekend against the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs (Triple-A affiliate of the Phillies). "Nice stirrups, Nyjer" is apparently the best these AAA-Phillies fans could come up with. Harper has certainly heard worse; and he will hear worse.
Meanwhile, it sounds like Mike Rizzo is unconcerned about Harper's patented slow start in AAA-ball:
"It's a different kind of pitching than he's ever had in the Minor Leagues. You have some hard-throwing prospects and you also have your veteran Triple A, 4-A type of pitchers that could really pitch and command their stuff. They are not the blazing fastballs, but they try to get you out in some way. Harper has a good approach and he is hitting the ball very hard. He'll make his adjustment. I'm not too concerned about it." (Mike Rizzo, via Nationals.com, 4/19/2012)
Hey, Harper went 0-2 Thursday night with 3 walks: he's hitting .232...but breakout coming soon...
