Video above: Tyler Clippard falling down just before throwing his first pitch of the 11th inning on Sunday. Balk with men on base, but no harm done with the bases empty. Just a few pitches later, the Nationals were trailing by 3. Harm done.
Reds 8, Nationals 5: Nats overcome early umpire-assisted 5-0 deficit, tie it in the 7th, lose it in the 11th. Also, Laz Diaz is terrible.
And now, time to start worrying about Clippard's shoulder discomfort?
"It’s just normal stuff I’ve been going through my whole career. It’s nothing out of the ordinary. I felt really good today. I’ve been feeling good every outing. They’ve been doing a good job of looking out for me. I can’t ask for anything more."
