So some Nats fan(s) hung a Nationals flag out of their hotel window at the Rogers Centre during Monday's Nationals-Blue Jays game. Guess that's Canatitude?
And apparently the return of the Nats/Expos to Canada is dredging up some difficult emotions north of the border (via Canada.com):
So if you’re a spurned Expos fan who is finally ready to get back into baseball, you have a legitimate predicament on your hands. Do you go back to cheering for your old franchise or do you switch allegiances over to the Blue Jays?
Suddenly cheering for Toronto in any sport seems like a foreign and somewhat nauseating prospect for most people in this country but especially for old, stubborn Expos fans. There was always a sense of jealousy and resentment from Expos fans towards the Blue Jays. Even though Montreal was awarded their franchise first, it was Toronto who always seemed to steal the spotlight. Their teams made the playoffs more often, their games were on national television and perhaps the most frustrating thing was that their retractable roof actually worked.
