Ho hum, Bryce Harper hit two more home runs Wednesday night (passing Ken Griffey Jr. for home runs by a teenager), this time with his parents in attendance at Nationals Park. After each bomb, he gave the "I love you sign" in the general direction of his Mom.
On his return to the dugout after the second one, Harper was greeted with "I Love You" signs from some of his teammates. Or were those heavy metal horns?(updated based on comments below)

Those look more like metal/devil horns to me - at least, the ones in the dougout. Note the thumb tucked in.

I concur with jaybeas.
Maaaaybe a "hook 'em horns" from Morse et al, but definitely not the "I love you" with the thumb out that Harper did.

As a formerly fluent ASL signer, I agree that the thumb placement is hugely important. Since it was his 2nd homer of the night, maybe they're just signifying "2" the same way you'd put up 2 fingers for 2 outs?

OK, we updated with the "metal horns" theory...agree with you all that thumb placement is key here!
