Aw, just a photo of Bryce Harper from his youth soccer days...

If you didn't think a photo of Bryce Harper standing outside in frigid winter temps without a jacket last weekend after NatsFest was a testament to his youth, how about the photo above, Tweeted to the world tonight by Harper's soccer-playing girlfriend @kayvarner (above, left) of probably a four or five year old Harper from his youth soccer days? No eye-black, sadly. Is that a faux-hawk?

In other Bryce Harper offseason soccer news: Apparently Harper went for a run with a club soccer team on Thursday in Vegas, only to realize the error of his ways ("Running to get into shape for season with a soccer team is not the business! Kill me! #bouttodie"):

Just a little photo of Gio Gonzalez with Jimmy Goins, so what?

Up above, the pic Gio posted on Instagram back in November with "My offseason strength coach Jimmy Goins."

To be honest, we liked the photos of Gio posing with Sweet Brown in Oklahoma City a few weeks ago much better, and the ensuing, sadly short-lived, #GioHangingWith meme. Goins, a conditioning coach at University of Miami, is also featured prominently in the Miami New Times report as a client of the Biogenesis clinic in Miami. Sweet Brown, of course, is simply an internet sensation.

And then there are the images released today by Miami New Times of the places Gio Gonzalez is mentioned in Anthony Bosch's notebook, and all the implications about  what "Pink cream" could be used for. We like the photos of Gio and Sweet Brown much better.

We're sticking with innocent until proven guilty. But...wow, this sucks...

Say it ain't so, Gio!

Uh oh. Via the Miami NewTimes, Gio Gonzalez has been linked (along with Alex Rodriguez and Nelson Cruz) to a PED doctor in Miami:

There's also the curious case of Gio Gonzalez, the 27-year-old, Hialeah-native, left-handed hurler who won 21 games last year for the Washington Nationals. Gonzalez's name appears five times in Bosch's notebooks, including a specific note in the 2012 book reading, "Order 1.c.1 with Zinc/MIC/... and Aminorip. For Gio and charge $1,000." (Aminorip is a muscle-building protein.)

Gonzalez's father, Max, also appears on Bosch's client lists and is often listed in conjunction with the pitcher. But reached by phone, the Hialeah resident insists his son has had no contact with Bosch.

We'll go with: Innocent until proven guilty. But say it ain't so, Gio!

Here's Gio's statement, issued on Twitter on Tuesday:

"I've never used performance enhancing drugs of any kind and I never will ,I've never met or spoken with tony Bosch or used any substance Provided by him.anything said to the contrary is a lie."

So Cutter Dykstra and Jamie-Lynn Sigler got engaged...

So Lenny Dykstra's kid got engaged to Tony Soprano's daughter.

"ZOMG!" "Amazeball news!" etc. says Perez Hilton.

File under:  Cutter Dykstra continues to make Mike Rizzo look like a genius for the Nyjer Morgan trade.

Whatever Nats minor league affiliate he ends up at this season needs to pull together a "Sopranos Night" promotion or something...

Video: Detwiler, Storen, and Werth play Jeopardy at NatsFest

Seems only fitting that on the same weekend Bryce Harper's "That's a Clown Question, Bro" showed up as a category on Jeopardy,  NatsFest would feature Ross Detwiler, Drew Storen, and Jayson Werth playing Nats Jeopardy with MASN's F.P. Santangelo playing the role of Alex Trebek. Video above via lfahome. Werth stole the show...

Here's a shot of Werth (jokingly) admonishing fans for shouting out an answer.

Video: Drew Storen gets a standing ovation at NatsFest

The last time Nationals fans saw Drew Storen, well...you know. Up above, video (via RollinWelshman) of Storen getting a standing ovation from fans during a Q&A at NatsFest.

And here's Storen on the standing O, via James Wagner of the Washington Post:

"That’s the type of stuff that really makes you feel special. The amount of support has been incredible."

Still can't believe Storen found out about the Soriano signing on Twitter...

Drew Storen found out about the Rafael Soriano deal on Twitter

Via Nats Insider, Drew Storen found out about the signing of Rafael Soriano on Twitter. Apparently Storen immediately called Tyler Clippardf:

"I just saw it on Twitter and I called him and I said, 'have you seen this?’ We were like, ‘what?’" (Drew Storen, via Nats Insider, 1/26/2013)

Both Storen and Clippard said all the right things yesterday at NatsFest, but man...DREW STOREN FOUND OUT ABOUT THE SORIANO DEAL ON TWITTER. Tough business.

Bryce Harper forgot his winter jacket today

So what if it was below freezing all day in DC on Saturday?

Up above, a photo of Bryce Harper standing in the cold on the corner of 7th and Mt. Vernon outside the Washington Convention Center after NatsFest. Jacket? No jacket. Quick! Someone call his Mom! And yes, that's Jayson Werth and Danny Espinosa all snug and warm in their huge beards and winter coats in front of the kid to the left and right.

Video: A bespectacled Jayson Werth discusses winning, might have been living in a forest for the past three months?

In the video above (via CSNWashington.com) a bespectacled Jayson Werth and his impressive beard comment on DC as a baseball town at NatsFest on Saturday:

"The exciting thing is the town is supporting the baseball team now...that's what we hoped for. I said that when I signed here, it would take us winning to get that to happen."

If not for the glasses, we might have to agree with the comment by CSN Washington's Michael Jenkins at the end of the clip: "He's been living in a forest for the past three months."
